A Podcast with Dave Taylor

A Conversation with Dave Taylor, by Durk Price

I met Dave in March at a conference in Dallas and purchased his blogging program. I was already blogging so I knew the technical parts of how to post and ping but I wasn’t clear how to really make what I was doing truly successful. One thing that Dave said in the conference was doing the blog out of your passion. If you weren’t passionate about your subject, how could you ever be successful at it? So I was hooked. So this conversation ensued after setting up my two main affiliate blogs using techniques and strategies learned through taking Dave’s course. And, Dave was kind enough to allow me to record the conversation which lasted almost 45 minutes. You may absorb this discussion by reading the transcript of the recording or by listening to the podcast linked below.

For those of you not really into reading or listening I will still share a gem Dave gives away here: “And so the key - this is the $64,000 tip here is - the way to get traffic on your blog is to comment on other people’s blogs.”

So with that as a lead in, enjoy the podcast or the reading.

And, of course thanks to Dave for allowing me to provide this information to you.

VIZION Interactive President to Speak at PubCon

Posted on November 8th, 2006 in DFW Search Engine Marketing Association | No Comments »

VIZION Interactive (www.vizioninteractive.com) announced that its President, Mark Jackson, has agreed to participate at this year’s PubCon in Las Vegas. Mark will be joined by Vanessa Fox of Google and Tim Converse of Yahoo! to discuss “Site Structure for Crawlability”. The session will discuss web site design that is not just search engine friendly, but search engine optimized as well. Brett Tabke of WebmasterWorld and Pubcon will moderate.

WebmasterWorld’s PubCon is an educational conference and industry trade show for web professionals and web site owners. The focal point of the conference is Search Engine Marketing, and includes such topics as web site marketing, corporate IT development, and technology business management. PubCon is perhaps best known for opportunities to network with experts over a drink or a meal.

After years of behind-the-scenes work, Mark Jackson decided that it was time to bring some of his insights into the public forum and PubCon seemed like a logical venue to do so. “VIZION Interactive specializes in not only search engine optimization, but search engine friendly web design, so the fact that Brett has asked me to participate made a lot of sense”, Mark mentioned. “This coincides perfectly with our recent announcement of our search engine friendly content management system launch, so I am very excited that Brett has asked me to serve on this panel”.

Jackson’s involvement with interactive marketing began with Lycos/Wired Digital where he managed several integrated marketing programs. He then worked with AOL/Time Warner on cross platform marketing programs. Jackson co-founded an interactive marketing agency and cultivated it into one of the largest search engine optimization firms in the United States. Most recently, Jackson founded VIZION Interactive, a Dallas-based interactive marketing agency based on Jackson’s own principles of honesty, integrity, and transparency.

WebmasterWorld’s Pubcon is scheduled for November 14-17, 2006, at the Las Vegas Convention Center. The panel discussion is scheduled for 11:35am on Wednesday, November 15. Panel speakers are likely to share insights on how to get more of one’s website pages indexed by Google, Yahoo!, MSN, Ask, and other search engines.

VIZION Interactive Launches Search Engine Friendly CMS

Posted on November 8th, 2006 in DFW Search Engine Marketing Association | No Comments »

Just in time for the holiday season, VIZION Interactive (www.vizioninteractive.com) announced the launch of Architect, a new content management system (CMS). Architect is a full-feature content management system based upon an open source platform.

“Architect allows our customers to manage their website, their blog and their podcasts from one central interface,” said Mark Jackson, President of VIZION Interactive. Not only do VIZION Interactive’s customers have increased flexibility in web site management, they also get search engine optimized website architecture. Each page can be easily located, spidered, and indexed by Internet search engines. Accessibility to search engines equals accessibility to users.

Trintech.com was the first website to take advantage of the benefits of VIZION Interactive’s CMS. Architect is now offered free of charge to all of VIZION Interactive’s web design clients, and is available to all SEO and Pay Per Click Advertising clients.

Architect builds pages that are 100% W3C compliant and accessible. With VIZION Interactive web design and development, client sites are also Section 508 compliant. The goal, according to Jackson, is to give clients the power to add and maintain their own website content with ease. For example, clients are able to “drag and drop” to move pages around on the site architecture manager. They will be able to click on a page to edit the META info without difficulty. Best of all, anyone making changes to a web page will be able to see a “real view” of the page he/she edits the page, ensuring quality results from the starting gate.

A very important quality is Architect’s ability to create web pages accessible to blind Internet users. Some government web sites are already required by law to be accessible to the blind. VIZION Interactive is a step ahead of the times. “At VIZION Interactive, we want everyone to have access to the amazing tools and information available online,” said Mark Jackson. “It is our pleasure to empower our clients with the ability to reach an important yet previously hard-to-reach Internet user group. Building a website which is accessible to all users is not only the right thing to do, it also happens to make websites much more ‘search engine friendly.’ Everyone wins with greater accessibility.”
